Humanitarian Film Projects
I work with NGOs, INGOs and mission-driven organisations to craft powerful, character-led films rooted in trust, context and lived experience.
My approach combines immersive cinematography with editorial precision, built over two decades reporting from some of the world’s most fragile and hard-to-reach places. I handle the full production process from story development and contributor support to safeguarding, compliance and delivery.
Before returning full-time to filmmaking, I spent two years with Internews in South Sudan, where I helped manage a network of fledgling radio stations during civil conflict. One project, in Bor, became a turning point in my understanding of how storytelling can change lives. When the UN approached us about rising stigma around HIV testing, I worked with our lead reporter to develop a bold radio feature: he would take an HIV test live on air and document the process.
We discussed every outcome, including a positive result, and made sure consent and support systems were watertight. The piece aired. Demand for testing surged. Kits ran out. Five people tested positive and were able to access antiretroviral treatment immediately. Stories can save lives. That’s the standard I hold myself to.
Today, I bring the same care and clarity to visual storytelling for humanitarian clients. Whether your focus is public health, displacement, education, climate or peace building, I can help shape stories that resonate ethically, creatively, and with lasting impact.
